How do I verify my identity?
Verifying your identity at 3S Money is simple.
As long as you have access to the internet, you can do it from anywhere in the world.
We accept clients from 190+ countries, and a wide range of identity documents.
What documents can I use to verify my identity?
Valid documents for identity verification are:
Passport
European national ID card
We do not accept:
Driver's licences
Birth certificates
Chinese national ID card
Photocopies of your passport or national ID card.
A few things to keep in mind:
Make sure the name on your documentation matches the name on your application.
Your ID needs to be valid and not expired.
Your ID needs to be in good condition and legible.
What is the process of verifying my identity?
When applying for a 3S Money international business account, identity verification is one of the steps in the application process.
If you are a director, ultimate beneficial owner or account signatory of the company, your identity verification link may be sent to to the email address entered by the original applicant.
You’ll need to have access to a smartphone with a camera and an internet connection, and follow these steps:
Scan the displayed QR code or click the Verify Identity button.
When prompted, agree to the terms of service.
Select the document type you have at hand.
Take good quality photos of the document as instructed.
Be ready to take a selfie.
Please wait: the verification process can take a few minutes.
Some tips on effectively photographing your documents and taking a selfie:
Ensure your photos are sharp and clear.
Taken all photos against a light background.
Your photos must be taken in colour only.
All four corners of your documents must be visible.
The lens of the camera is clean from dust and smudges.
Ensure there’s no glare or strong shadows.
Photocopies or reproductions won’t be accepted.
No other people or irrelevant things should be visible in the selfie.
How do I scan the QR code?
You need to have a smartphone to scan the QR code:
iOS
Open your camera app and point the camera to the screen displaying the QR code.
Once it’s recognised, you will see the link on your screen. Tap the link and follow the instructions.
Android
Use your phone’s camera to scan the QR code.
Point the camera to the screen displaying the QR code. Once it is recognised, you will see the link on your screen. Tap the link and follow the instructions.
If your Android phone does not recognise QR codes using your camera app, use Google Lens, Firefox or a QR code reader application from Google Play Store to scan the code.
What if my identity verification is rejected?
If your first try is unsuccessful, don't worry.
Familiarise yourself with the ‘How to effectively photograph documents or a selfie’ section within this article and try again.
Check if your document type is accepted.
Ensure the photo quality of the document and the selfie is good.
